

In “Rare turtle found off N.S. catches flight to the Caribbean,” Giuliana Grillo, for the CBC news channel, reported that a juvenile Kemp’s Ridley sea turtle, an endangered species, was found emaciated and hypothermic in Digby, Nova Scotia. Rescuers and a P.E.I. veterinarian nursed it back to health and it was returned to its home in the warm waters of the Bahamas.
According to scientist Kathleen Martin (Canadian Sea Turtle Network), it was taken to the Atlantis Paradise Island resort because of its excellent animal care and rehabilitation facilities.
