By Breaking Belize News Staff (HP): A 24-year-old Trial Farm resident has been charged after being found riding a motorcycle without valid insurance.

The incident occurred on Saturday, February 21, 2026, around 2:30 p.m., while officers were conducting mobile patrol in Trial Farm Village, Orange Walk District.

Police say that officers observed a black Lifan motorcycle bearing license plate OWM-5527 and signaled the driver to stop. The rider complied and presented his driver’s license.

He was identified as Manuel Alvarado, a 24-year-old laborer of Trial Farm Village.

Further checks revealed that the motorcycle’s insurance had expired on January 7, 2026. When asked if he had updated insurance, Alvarado reportedly stated that he did not.

He was informed of the offence of using a motor vehicle not covered by third-party risk insurance and was detained and escorted to the Trial Farm Sub-Station along with the motorcycle.

Alvarado was formally arrested and charged for the offence.
