By Zoila Palma: On February 19, 2026, 2 additional contracts were signed with La Loma Luz Adventist Hospital in Santa Elena Town and Clinica Santa Maria in Benque Viejo del Carmen under the National Health Insurance (NHI) program.
“As Belize commemorates 25 years of National Health Insurance, these signings represent more than expansion; they embody a legacy of care, equity, and unwavering commitment to the health and dignity of every Belizean,” a statement from the Government of Belize noted.
The Government says that now that the program has expanded nationwide, quality, affordable healthcare is more accessible than ever.
