The official book launch for Shantel George’s The Yoruba Are on a Rock: Recaptured Africans and the Orisas of Grenada will take place on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, from 2:30 to 4:00pm, at the Humanities Research Hub, Rm 101, 1 University Gardens, University of Glasgow (Scotland, United Kingdom).
Along with a presentation by the author, there will be a discussion led by panel chair Désha Osborne (University of Edinburgh). The discussants will be professors Gus John (independent scholar and practitioner of Yoruba culture), Angus Martin (independent scholar, archivist, and curator), and Diana Paton (University of Edinburgh).
