By Breaking Belize News Staff (HP): A man was detained after being found intoxicated on Sunday evening along the Phillip Goldson Highway in Trial Farm Village, Orange Walk District.
At approximately 6:40 p.m. on February 15th, police conducting mobile patrol observed a Hispanic male sitting on the concrete floor in front of Sugar City Supermarket.
Upon approaching him, officers observed that he was asleep and snoring while holding a bottle of “De Oro Rum” containing about one-quarter of its contents. After being awakened, he reportedly staggered and had slurred speech.
The man identified himself as Carlos Cruz of Trial Farm Village and was escorted to the Trial Farm Police Sub-Station.
Due to his intoxicated condition, he was unable to sign the required acknowledgement and custody forms.
