By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Corozal Elite continued their strong start to the 2026 Westline Premier Women’s League Closing Season with a 1–1 draw against early leaders Jewel Fury on Saturday afternoon at the People’s Stadium in Orange Walk Town.
For the second straight week, Edith Alejandra Cabrera delivered for Corozal. After scoring in the season opener against Napoles, she struck again in the 41st minute, giving Corozal a deserved 1–0 halftime lead.
Jewel Fury, who entered Week 2 at the top of the standings after their 2–1 win over SAGITUN GIRLZ, responded in the second half. Amina Burgess equalized in the 67th minute, securing a point for the visitors and keeping Fury unbeaten after two matches.
The draw keeps Jewel Fury at the top of the table with four points (1W, 1D).
Corozal Elite remain unbeaten as well, now on two points from two draws.

Corozal’s consistency, combined with Cabrera’s scoring form, keeps them firmly in the early-season race. Jewel Fury, meanwhile, remain the only team with a win so far and continue to set the pace.
