By Zoila Palma:  Today, Deputy Mayor Eluide Miller delivered an inspiring address at the opening ceremony of Career Day at Maud Williams High School.

The event was held under the theme “From Learning to Earning: Preparing for Life Beyond School.”

He challenged students to rethink success and reminded them:

“You do NOT need to have it all figured out right now. But you do need to start moving. Every single day, do something that contributes to the future you desire,” Miller said.

Encouraging them to pursue careers that build both themselves and Belize, he emphasized the importance of service, discipline, and commitment, declaring:

“Belize was not built by perfect people. It was built by committed people,” he added.

Students were also encouraged to explore service-driven careers and take advantage of opportunities like the Youth Shadow Council program at the Belize City Council.

To close, two students participated in an interactive segment titled “Future CEO of My Life,” reinforcing a simple but powerful message: success starts with courage, vision, and action.
