By Zoila Palma: On February 11, 2026, Cayo District Extension Officers participated in sensitization training for the Anticipatory Action for Drought in Belize program supported by the World Food Program.
This follows on the recent soft launch of the program in Belize.
Extension Officers will work with farmers to ensure producers are prepared for any drought event in the near future.
The Ministry noted that over 800 households will be impacted in drought prone districts like Corozal, Orange Walk and Cayo
