By Zoila Palma:  On February 11, 2026, Barbados Prime Minister Mia Mottley won her third election victory with her Barbados Labour Party sweeping all seats of the House of Assembly.

The Barbados Labour Party won all 30 seats available unseating opposition leader Ralph Thorne.

“We are humbled by your confidence and trust. Thank you.

Let us now come together as one people to continue building our nation,” Mottley expressed.

Mottley is Barbados first female leader since its independence in 1966, and her strong international advocacy for climate action and support for small and vulnerable nations have made her an influential and popular global and regional leader.
