By Rubén Morales Iglesias: The Orange Walk Football Association (OWFA) met Monday night at the Louisiana Football Field to finalize preparations for the 2025–2026 Closing Season, which officially kicks off on February 21. Twelve teams have been placed into two groups as the district prepares for another competitive campaign.
The announcement comes just weeks after a dramatic Opening Season Final in which Yo Creek United completed a historic three‑peat, defeating San Jose Pumas on penalties to secure their third consecutive OWFA 1st Division title.

Yo Creek United enter the Closing Season as the team to beat after their title run, which saw them rally from a goal down in the final. Moses West had put San Jose Pumas ahead in the 62nd minute, but Armando Chirinos Jr. equalized in the 86th, forcing the match into a penalty‑kick shootout that Yo Creek ultimately won. The victory cemented their dominance in Orange Walk football.
