Belize Tourism Board hosts Culinary Certification handover ceremony

By Zoila Palma:  Today, the Belize Tourism Board (BTB), through its Elevate Training Institute, proudly hosted a Culinary Certification Handover Ceremony recognizing 13 chefs who successfully completed a rigorous programme delivered in partnership with the American Culinary Federation (ACF).

Certified Sous Chef (CSC):

Fernando Ixpatac and Edi Redondo – Naia Resort & Spa

Jesse Tzib and Isai Tzib – San Ignacio Resort Hotel

Gilbert Edwards – The Rainforest Lodge at Sleeping Giant

Isela Jimenez – The Lodge at Jaguar Reef

Certified Chef de Cuisine (CCC):

Frank Varma and Samuel Gonzalez – Grand Caribe Belize

Wilmer Martinez – Umaya Resort and Adventures

Michael Acal – Chef Rob’s Gourmet Cafe

Certified Executive Chef (CEC):

Rahim Melendez – The Banks

Ennel Valdez – Cayo Centre for Employment Training

Sean Kuylen – Slate and Sap

“This milestone reflects the continued growth of Belize’s culinary industry, where local talent meets international standards to elevate the visitor experience,” the BTB said.

The BTB extended congratulations to all the chefs on this outstanding achievement and for helping to place Belize firmly on the international culinary stage!
