By Aaron Humes: Burglars hit a vacant house in the King’s Park area this week, stealing building materials. The manager of the property at #4 Fifth Street reported the incident to the Northside Crimes Investigation Branch on February 7.
According to the manager, he conducted a routine check of the house on February 2 and found it locked and secure. However, on February 6, a concerned neighbor informed him of suspicious activity at the location. The neighbor reported seeing two men removing the doors and windows from the property.
Upon arriving at the scene, he discovered that items including eight metal windows, three wooden doors, one toilet, and a bathroom sink were missing. The total value of the stolen items has not been determined.
Police acted on the information provided and a suspect has been apprehended, with one other being sought. Investigations continue.
