By Rubén Morales Iglesias: As part of its 2026 relaunch, the National Elite Basketball League (NEBL) has unveiled a new digital‑engagement initiative featuring a roster of team‑assigned influencers who will provide behind‑the‑scenes access and expanded coverage throughout the season.
The NEBL announced the group under the banner “NEBL Insiders”, describing the effort as a way to increase visibility, modernize fan engagement, and offer content beyond traditional game broadcasts. According to the NEBL, the influencers will share real‑time updates, match‑day atmosphere, and exclusive moments from team activities.
Each franchise has been paired with its own designated content creator:
- San Pedro Tiger Sharks – Bze Chosen Kidd
- Cayo Western Ballaz – Benjamin Garcia
- Orange Walk Running Rebels – Leide Cadle
- Corozal Spartans – DJ Trick
- Belmopan Trojans – Neveah
- Belize City Defenders – El Toxico
- EZ Investments Griga Dream Ballers – Brianna Zabaneh-Boyd
The NEBL said the initiative is intended to “level up the NEBL experience” by giving fans access to material not typically available through league channels. The rollout comes as the league prepares for its first season under the restored NEBL name since the 2020 campaign was halted due to the COVID‑19 pandemic, with the San Pedro Tiger Sharks leading the standings at the time.
The influencer program will run throughout the season, with additional digital features expected as the league progresses.

Week 1 – Friday, February 21
Belize City Civic Center
7:30 p.m. — San Pedro Tiger Sharks vs. Cayo Western Ballaz
9:30 p.m. — Belize City Defenders vs. Orange Walk Running Rebels
UB Gymnasium, Belmopan
8:00 p.m. — Belmopan Trojans vs. Corozal Spartans
Week 2 – February 27–28
Friday, February 27 — UB Gymnasium, Belmopan
- 8:00 p.m. — Belmopan Trojans vs. San Pedro Tiger Sharks
Saturday, February 28
- 8:00 p.m. — Cayo Western Ballaz vs. Belize City Defenders (Victor Galvez Stadium, San Ignacio)
- 8:00 p.m. — Orange Walk Running Rebels vs. EZ Investments Griga Dream Ballers (OW Multipurpose Complex)
