By Zoila Palma:  Venezuela’s acting president Delcy Rodríguez said Sunday that she has had “enough” of Washington’s orders, pushing back against U.S. pressure as she seeks to stabilize the country following the capture of Nicolás Maduro.

Speaking to oil workers in Puerto La Cruz, Rodríguez said Venezuela must resolve its own political differences, rejecting U.S. demands that include resuming oil production and broader conditions tied to relations with Washington.

Rodríguez, who was backed by the United States as interim leader after Maduro’s arrest, has sought to balance domestic unity with maintaining workable ties with the White House.

While insisting that the U.S. does not govern Venezuela, she has avoided direct confrontation and said the country does not fear the United States but wants relations based on mutual respect.

According to CNN, President Donald Trump said he was unaware of Rodríguez’s remarks and maintained that Washington has a “very good relationship” with Venezuela.

The U.S. has kept pressure on Caracas since Maduro and his wife were taken to the United States to face charges, while outlining demands that include changes to Venezuela’s foreign alliances and oil partnerships.
