By Breaking Belize News Staff: Lennox Gentle is back behind bars after a Senior Magistrate revoked his bail for repeatedly failing to comply with court-ordered bail conditions in connection with a pending burglary matter.

Gentle appeared on Friday in Court #2 before a Senior Magistrate, where the prosecution successfully applied for his bail to be revoked. The application followed Gentle’s arrest earlier this week on a bench warrant issued for his failure to appear in court.

According to the court, Gentle had been out on bail for a burglary trial that was heard and concluded in late 2025. At the time, the presiding Senior Magistrate was considering the evidence and preparing to deliver a ruling. However, Gentle absconded while awaiting the court’s decision.

The prosecution, led by a police sergeant, informed the court that Gentle breached several bail conditions. These included failing to appear for scheduled court hearings and neglecting to sign in at the police station on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays as required. The court also heard that Gentle provided an address in Ladyville but later moved without notifying the court. He was eventually located and detained in Belize City on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, following the issuance of the bench warrant.

When given the opportunity to address the court, Gentle offered no explanation for his failure to appear or comply with his bail conditions. As a result, the Senior Magistrate revoked his bail.

Gentle’s bail was revoked in relation to both the burglary charge, for which he is awaiting a verdict, and a separate wounding charge. His burglary and wounding cases are scheduled for January 23, 2026, on which date the Senior Magistrate is also expected to hand down her decision in the burglary trial.
