By Breaking Belize News Staff: According to the National Meteorological Service, an approaching cold front north of the northern Yucatan Peninsula will bring some changes later today.
The 24-hour forecast calls for mostly sunny skies becoming mostly cloudy this afternoon and tonight. Showers, if any, are expected to be isolated this morning and into the early afternoon. Then, a few showers and possible isolated thunderstorms will likely occur over northern areas this evening, with activity gradually moving southward across the country during the night, while decreasing.
High temperatures today are forecasted at 81 degrees Fahrenheit along the coast; 84 degrees Fahrenheit in inland areas, and 74 degrees in the hills, with lows tonight around 67 degrees Fahrenheit along the coast; 62 degrees in inland areas, and 58 degrees in the hills.
Winds are from the north to northwest at five to 15 knots, resulting in lightly choppy seas.
Tides will be high at 8:57 a.m. and 7:37 p.m. and low at 1:19 this afternoon. The sun rose at 6:26 this morning and will set at 5:38 this evening.
On Friday and Friday night, skies will be variably cloudy. Little to no rainfall is expected, with a medium chance for a few showers or light rain over southern offshore areas.
