By Zoila Palma: The Ministry of Public Service noted that a total of 113 public officers participated in the Strengthening Public Expenditure Management (SPEM) Project, a nationally tailored Public Financial Management Certification Programme.
The programme strengthened participants’ knowledge and skills in key areas such as accounting, budgeting, treasury operations, and internal auditing.
“This initiative, made possible through a partnership between the Ministry of the Public Service and the University of Belize, represents an important step toward enhancing accuracy and accountability in Government Ministries and Departments,” the Ministry said.
