By Zoila Palma: The Ministry of Infrastructure Development & Housing, through its construction contractor for the Santa Familia Bridge Construction Project, M&M Engineering Consultants Ltd., informed the public of the transportation of the extra-wide and oversized Truss segments on the Philip Goldson Highway, the Boom-Hattieville Road, and the George Price Highway from Haulover Bridge to Georgeville, Cayo.
This movement will occur during the day on Sunday, January 11, 2026, and will commence at 9:00 a.m.
MIDH urges the public to be vigilant and exercise extreme caution when approaching and navigating past the heavy equipment transporting these structural steel trusses.
The extra-wide load is approximately 22 feet at its widest point; therefore, it will take up almost the entire width of the highway.
Opposite-direction traffic will be required to pull off the road.
Drivers are asked to be on the lookout for traffic escorts, reduce speed, heed the warnings in place, and follow the instructions of the traffic managers.
In addition, MIDH urges all drivers to abide by transport and safety precautions and to exercise due care and attention at all times.
