By Breaking Belize News Staff (HP): Police in the Orange Walk District detained a man Thursday afternoon after discovering shotgun ammunition during a routine mobile patrol in Guinea Grass Village.
According to police, the incident occurred around 1:45 p.m. while officers were conducting patrols along Guinea Grass Road. Officers observed a man riding a maroon Honda motorcycle without a helmet and decided to stop him.
During a search, police found two 12-gauge shotgun cartridges on the man: one red “Federal” brand shell and one transparent “Bellie” brand shell. When questioned, the man reportedly admitted that he did not possess a firearm license that would allow him to legally carry ammunition.
He was informed of the offence, cautioned, and escorted to the Orange Walk Police Station along with the seized ammunition.
Police say the man remains in custody pending charges.
