By Breaking Belize News Staff (HP): A 37-year-old man has been charged in Orange Walk after police found him in possession of a pocketknife with a blade exceeding the legal limit.
The incident occurred around 3:40 a.m. on January 3, 2026, while police were conducting mobile patrol along Aurora Street. Officers observed a man standing along the roadside dressed in dark clothing and decided to stop and conduct a search.
During the search, police found a black pocketknife on the man. The blade was later measured and found to be approximately three and a quarter inches in length.
The man was informed of the offence and taken to the Orange Walk Police Station, where the knife was properly measured, documented, and secured as evidence in his presence.
He was formally charged with possession of an article with blade, granted bail, and is expected to appear before the Magistrate’s Court on January 9, 2026.
