The Orange Walk Football Association 2025–2026 1st Division Opening Championship will resume after the Christmas break with the semifinals set for January 11, 2026, at the Louisiana Government Primary School Football Field in Orange Walk. The final four is now confirmed, with defending champions Yo Creek United FC and subchampions San Jose Pumas FC returning to the semifinal stage, joined by Progresso FC Amateur and Louisiana FC.
The semifinal matchups are:
– San Jose Pumas FC vs Louisiana FC
– Yo Creek United FC vs Progresso FC Amateur
With Yo Creek United and San Jose Pumas advancing on opposite sides of the bracket, a repeat of last season’s final is now a real possibility—adding extra anticipation to the championship race.
Progresso FC advanced with a 7–2 aggregate over FC Trinidad, while San Jose Pumas FC moved on after a 5–3 win over Mi Gente FC, powered by quarterfinal top scorer Justin Cardenas. Yo Creek United FC defeated San Estevan Soccer Team 5–2 on aggregate, and Louisiana FC completed a 2–0 sweep over San Jose FC.
The tournament now pauses for the Christmas break, with excitement building for January’s restart. Two returning finalists and two strong challengers are set to battle for a place in the grand final as the Opening Championship reaches its decisive stage.
