Key evidence against Elmer Nah ruled admissible in triple murder case as he maintains innocence

69

By Aaron Humes: Elmer Nah, former police corporal, faces trial for the triple murder of the Ramnarace family. High Court Justice Nigel Pilgrim today ruled there is sufficient evidence for the case to proceed, determining the prosecution has established a prima facie case against Nah. The trial relates to the December 31, 2022, killings of Jon, David, and Vivian Ramnarace in Belmopan.

Key evidence deemed admissible includes a statement given by Vivian Ramnarace before her death. Nah’s defense team, led by Dr. Lynden Jones, has asked for time to review the ruling and prepare a submission of no case to answer. Nah maintains his innocence.

The case has been adjourned to February 2026. Before then, by December 22, a notice of alibi must be filed; on January 5, 2026, the no-case submission is due; on January 19, 2026, the Crown’s response is due and on February 9, 2026, the case resumes with judgment on whether Nah must mount a defense.
