By Zoila Palma: Last week, U.S. Chargé d’Affaires Rhonda Slusher toured the ASR-BSI sugar mill, gaining firsthand insight into the operations of Belize’s largest agro-industrial facility.
During the visit, Slusher observed how ASR’s US$175 million investment—the largest single U.S. investment in Belize continues to support and strengthen the country’s sugar industry.
She also visited the Sugar Industry Research and Development Institute’s laboratories and research facilities, where she learned about ongoing innovations aimed at improving sugar cane cultivation, productivity, and sustainability across Belize.
