Napoles FC booked their place in the Premier Women’s League of Belize (PWLB) Opening Championship Final after defeating Jewel Fury FC 2–1 in the second leg of their semifinal at the Isidoro Beaton Stadium in Belmopan on Sunday, December 14.
With the first leg tied 2–2, Napoles struck first through Khalydia Velasquez (14’) and doubled the lead via Jayda Brown (49’). Jewel Fury pulled one back when Ophelia Casimiro converted a penalty in the 83rd minute, but Napoles held firm to secure the win and advance on a 4–3 aggregate.
Napoles, who topped the regular season, now face defending champions Sagitun GIRLZ FC in the Final. The clash promises fireworks, as Napoles’ only defeat in the regular season came against Sagitun — a 2–1 loss at Independence just before the campaign ended — a setback they’ll be eager to avenge on the biggest stage.
The PWLB Final kicks off on Saturday, December 20, at the Michael Ashcroft Stadium in Independence, where Sagitun GIRLZ will defend their crown against Napoles.
