By Zoila Palma: A Belize Defence Force (BDF) soldier has graduated with honors from a prestigious military training institution in Honduras.
Acting Brigadier General Anthony Velasquez recently conducted an official visit to Honduras to attend the graduation ceremony of the Honduran Air Force Non-Commissioned Officers Training School.
Among the graduates was Belize’s Lance Corporal Carmita Camal who distinguished herself by ranking third overall in Class 48-A after three years of rigorous technical training.
Her performance was marked by discipline, dedication, and consistently high academic and professional standards.
The BDF praised Lcpl Camal’s achievement, noting that her success brings pride to Belize and reflects the value of advanced military training opportunities abroad.
The BDF has expressed anticipation for her return, where her newly acquired skills are expected to contribute to national defence capabilities.
During the visit, Brigadier General Velasquez also participated in a commemorative ceremony marking the Bicentennial of the Honduran Army, which featured the presentation of decorations, distinctions, and promotions.
