Defending champions Sagitun GIRLZ FC are the first team through to the Premier Women’s League of Belize (PWLB) Opening Championship Final after edging Corozal Elite FC 3–2 in the second leg of their semifinal at the Michael Ashcroft Stadium in Independence on Saturday night.
The victory gave Sagitun GIRLZ a 7–4 aggregate win, following their 4–2 triumph in the first leg in Corozal.
Corozal Elite struck first through Josefin Reyes (42’), but Sagitun GIRLZ responded immediately as Kenya Perez equalized in the 44th minute. Perez then put the champions ahead with her second goal in the 51st minute, before Reyes pulled Corozal level again at 64’. With the tie still in the balance, Sabrina Eiley sealed the win in the 87th minute, ensuring Sagitun GIRLZ defended their home turf and advanced to the final.

Eiley’s late strike gave her a brace across the two semifinal legs, while Reyes finished the series with three goals for Corozal Elite, underlining her impact despite her team’s elimination.
The champions will now await the winner of the other semifinal between Napoles FC and Jewel Fury FC, which will be decided on Sunday at the Isidoro Beaton Stadium in Belmopan after their first leg ended 2–2.
