By Breaking Belize News Staff: The trial of two men accused in a large drug and firearm seizure on Saint George’s Caye resumed on Thursday in the Belize City Magistrate’s Court. The case stems from an April 2024 operation in which police reported recovering over two kilograms of cocaine, multiple quantities of cannabis, and a high-powered rifle.

Facing trial are alleged PIV figure Edwin Edward Flowers, 41, known as “Drive,” and 32-year-old Kenyon Kareem Dominquez. A third accused, 25-year-old Gaston Alfred Barrow, is no longer before the court following his fatal shooting at Old Belize on September 28, 2025.

Flowers and Dominquez are jointly charged with four counts of possession of controlled drugs—2,050 grams of cannabis, 9,282 grams of cannabis, 890 grams of cannabis, and 2,308 grams of cocaine. They also face charges for kept firearm and kept ammunition relating to a .223 rifle with no serial number and 21 live rounds.

The trial commenced on December 3, 2025, before the Chief Magistrate in Court #1. Attorney Richard “Dickie” Bradley represents both accused. Bradley informed the court that the defense is not contesting the police statements at this stage, allowing them to be tendered into evidence without objection.

Statements read into evidence include those of the arresting officer; a member of the special patrol team searching for individuals under the state of emergency; and another officer who handled and retrieved all exhibits tied to the case. Bradley noted that two additional witness statements remain to be read before the prosecution closes its case.

The men were first arraigned on April 18, 2024, and were initially denied bail due to the seriousness of the allegations. They have since been released on bail, which was today further extended.

The matter has been adjourned to January 8, 2026, at 10:00 a.m., when the trial is expected to continue.
