By Aaron Humes: 22-year-old Daniel Tillett was fatally shot on Antelope Street Extension, Belize City, early on Saturday morning.
ASP Stacy Smith of the Belize Police Department reported in a press briefing this afternoon that “A Police camera in the area was able to capture the entire incident, and the video footage is now being carefully reviewed by the investigators, with a view to finding the persons responsible for this murder. Tillett is known to police, having been previously charged for the 2021 murder of Deron Hernandez…no motive has been established so far, however, we do have reasons to suspect that Tillett was an active player in the activities in that area.”
Police on patrol heard shots being fired and then found Tillett’s lifeless body. He had been traveling on a motorcycle headed toward Hilda Foreman Street when three armed men exited a yard and began firing at him. He fell off the motorcycle and the men escaped through Ruben Morales Street. Investigations continue.
