Deputy Chief Forest Officer John Pinelo is representing the Belize Forest Department at the 2025 United Nations Climate Change Conference, taking place in Belém, Brazil, from November 10–21, 2025.
Pinelo is leading Belize’s engagement in the Just Transition phase, which focuses on ensuring that the shift toward a low-carbon, sustainable economy is fair and inclusive, protecting livelihoods, promoting social inclusion, and supporting communities as the country advances toward a resilient, net-zero future.
