By Breaking Belize News Staff: Police have detained one suspect and are actively pursuing another armed man following this morning’s armed robbery on Guana Belly Road in Bullet Tree Village, Cayo District.
According to initial reports, two men carried out the robbery — one of whom was swiftly captured by police after attempting to flee the scene. However, the second suspect remains on the run and is believed to have escaped toward the San Jose area.
Police have launched a manhunt and are urging residents in Bullet Tree and surrounding communities to exercise caution and report any suspicious activity immediately. The armed suspect is considered dangerous.
Authorities are also investigating whether this latest incident is connected to a recent string of crimes in the area, including the murder of Canadian national Marty Thorne and the theft of a vehicle along Guana Belly Road last week.
Heavy police presence remains in Bullet Tree as investigators process the scene and continue their search operation.
