
By Zoila Palma: The Association of Former Queens and the National Queen of the Bay Committee officially announced that Queen Sherima Usher will be stepping down from her position as President, following 7 remarkable years of dedicated service to the Queen of the Bay legacy.
“During her tenure, Queen Sherima’s leadership has been instrumental in strengthening the cultural and national significance of the Queen of the Bay Pageant. Her vision, commitment, and unwavering passion for empowering young women have shaped years of memorable celebrations and strengthened the unity among former Queens. The Association expresses its deepest gratitude to Queen Sherima for her invaluable contributions and wishes her continued success in her future endeavors,” the committee said.
As part of this transition, Queen Karima Card has been appointed President of the Queen of the Bay Organization, bringing with her a spirit of collaboration and renewed energy to carry the mission forward.
“Karen Vernon will continue to serve as Events Planner and Pageant Director, ensuring continuity and excellence in the coordination of all events.
This moment marks a new chapter for the Queen of the Bay; one that honors the past, embraces the present, and looks forward to a bright and united future. We extend our heartfelt appreciation to Queen Sherima for her years of dedicated service, and we welcome the continued support of all former Queens and stakeholders as we move confidently toward the 81st celebration of the Queen of the Bay legacy,” the committee added.
