By Breaking Belize News Staff (HP): The Lodge at Chaa Creek is mourning the sudden passing of one of its most cherished team members, Meshack, a respected naturalist guide who touched the lives of countless guests and colleagues through his passion for Belize’s wildlife, culture, and natural beauty.
In an official statement, the resort confirmed that Meshack was found unresponsive early this morning at the property. While investigations are ongoing, it is believed he passed away from a heart attack during the night.
Meshack had been part of the Chaa Creek family for many years, earning admiration for his deep knowledge of the rainforest, his dedication to conservation, and his warm, welcoming nature that made every guest experience unforgettable.
“He was not just a guide, but a storyteller, a teacher, and a friend to all who crossed his path,” the statement read.
