By Breaking Belize News Staff (HP): A police patrol in Orange Walk Town led to the arrest of a 49-year-old mechanic after he was found driving a vehicle without proper documentation.
According to reports, around 2:30 a.m. on November 5, 2025, police officers were conducting routine patrols on San Antonio Road when they stopped a white Ford Ranger. Upon inspection, officers discovered that the driver’s license of the motorist had expired since October 12, 2025, and the vehicle’s insurance and license had both lapsed since 2021.
The driver, identified as a resident of San Francisco Street, was immediately informed of the offenses — including driving without a valid driver’s license, driving an uninsured vehicle, and using an unlicensed motor vehicle. He was then cautioned, told his constitutional rights, and escorted to the Orange Walk Police Station along with the vehicle.
At the station, the man was formally arrested and charged with the three traffic offenses.
Police also reported a productive patrol night, checking 175 businesses, searching 25 individuals, issuing six traffic violation tickets, and detaining six male prisoners.
