The rise in prices is impacting residents across a variety of essential goods and services. Consumers in San Pedro faced above-average increases in costs, particularly for food, non-alcoholic beverages, and restaurant services. Additional areas of concern include spikes in nightclub entrance fees, medical services, domestic daycare options, and household essentials such as laundry products, soaps, and detergents.
Conversely, the inflation landscape in Orange Walk Town has taken a different turn. Residents in this municipality benefited from a decrease in consumer prices, if only slightly – a 0.2 percent decline. This reduction has been particularly evident in the costs for food, tobacco, and women’s and girls’ garments. Households have also seen price drops in laundry products, soaps, and detergents, providing some relief amid the broader inflation scenario.
