By Zoila Palma: The Government of Belize is warning the public about a fake AI-generated video circulating on social media that falsely encourages people to invest money for quick returns.
According to the warning, the video — which is in Spanish — features images of well-known Belizean personalities, but authorities have confirmed it is not real and was created using artificial intelligence.
The public is urged to exercise caution, avoid sharing personal or financial information, and report suspicious content.
Officials remind Belizeans that scams and misinformation of this nature are becoming increasingly common online.
