By Breaking Belize News Staff: A Belize City sanitation worker has been sentenced to six months in prison after being caught once again with a crack pipe—his fifth conviction for the same offense.
24-year-old Brian Fuentes, a resident of Jennifer Street, appeared unrepresented before Magistrate Mannon Dennison in Court #6 on Tuesday, where he pleaded guilty to possession of utensils used for smoking drugs.
According to police, on Monday, October 20, 2025, Fuentes was found on Regent Street West with a 6.5-centimeter silver metal pipe fitted with green rubber, believed to be used for smoking crack cocaine.
In mitigation, Fuentes told the court he was trying to give up the habit and said he would “try to leave the pipe alone.” However, after noting his four prior convictions for pipe possession and one for possession of controlled drugs, the Magistrate ruled that Fuentes had not learned his lesson.
He was sentenced to six months in prison, effective immediately, and advised to enroll in the Drug Rehabilitation Program while serving his sentence.
Fuentes’ latest conviction marks his fifth for drug utensil possession.
