By Breaking Belize News Staff (HP): A calm and pleasant day is in store for Belize as mainly fair weather dominates across the country. The National Meteorological Service reports that skies will be mostly sunny today with occasional cloudy intervals, while tonight will be partly cloudy with brief showers possible over the north. Thunderstorms will be isolated, keeping most areas dry and warm.
Seas will remain slight and tranquil with waves of one to three feet, thanks to light and variable winds. The gentle marine conditions are favorable for fishermen and boaters. Daytime highs will soar to 92°F (33°C) inland, 89°F (31°C) along coastal areas, and 80°F (27°C) over the hills. Temperatures will cool tonight to 71°F (21°C) inland, 77°F (25°C) on the coast, and 68°F (20°C) in the higher elevations.
Meanwhile, weather watchers are keeping an eye on a tropical wave located in the central tropical Atlantic. The disturbance continues to generate showers and thunderstorms, and while gradual development is possible as it tracks westward, it poses no immediate threat to Belize. The National Meteorological Service will continue to monitor its evolution over the coming days.
The outlook for Saturday calls for more cloudy spells and a few showers or isolated thunderstorms, especially over the north in the morning and the south coast at night. Otherwise, the weather remains generally fair.
Today’s high tide was at 7:12 a.m., followed by a low at 1:50 p.m., another high at 7:51 p.m., and a low early tomorrow at 1:53 a.m. The sun rose at 5:46 a.m. and will set at 5:29 p.m. this evening. The moon will set at 3:16 p.m. and rise again at 3:24 a.m. tomorrow.
