As part of the 2025 International Book Fair [Feria Internacional del Libro, FIL RIO 2025] to be held from November 3 to 8 at the University of Puerto Rico-Río Piedras (UPR-RP), author Giannina Braschi will have a conversation about her work. With Dr. Carmen Haydée Rivera Vega as moderator, this event will take place on Tuesday, November 4, at 10:00am, at the Jorge Enjuto Room, School of Humanities, UPR-RP.

Carmen Dolores Hernández Badillo (El Nuevo Día) writes: “It’ is difficult to describe Giannina Braschi’s literary personality. She was born here, but lives there, and she comes and goes; she writes in English, she writes in Spanish, and often in Spanglish; she began as a tennis player, studied literature, and as a writer, she ‘wants to take literature out of literature’; she is a poet and a prose writer, but she is seduced by the dramatic: she juxtaposes and contrasts voices, attitudes, slogans, genres, and languages; she loves everything Greek, but her poetry is very contemporary; indeed, it anticipates the present moment. And while her books shout, disturb, and attack, her personality is gentle, soft, and polite.”
