By Zoila Palma:  The Ministry of Agriculture has announced that solar-powered cold storage units in San Carlos and Concepcion are now fully operational.

The facilities were completed under the CARICOM Boost Project for Women and Youth, aimed at supporting local women and youth farmers by extending the shelf life of their produce.

The project seeks to enhance food security, reduce post-harvest losses, and strengthen the local economy.

The ministry also expressed gratitude to the Orange Walk and Corozal Extension Service teams for their key role in making the initiative a success.
