By Zoila Palma: Today, Salesforce announced that it will invest $1 billion in Mexico over the next five years to expand its operations and accelerate artificial intelligence adoption, Reuters report.
The investment will fund a new office in Mexico City and a Global Delivery Center to support customers across the Americas. CEO Marc Benioff described the move as a commitment to Mexico as a key market for AI-powered growth.
Mexico has been emerging as a major tech services hub, attracting investments from global technology companies, particularly in AI, due to its proximity to the U.S. and growing talent pool. Salesforce counts several Mexican organizations among its clients, including Xcaret, Grupo Bafar, and FEMSA.
Economy Minister Marcelo Ebrard highlighted that the investment will create jobs, build AI skills, and position Mexico as a key consultancy hub for Latin America.
The announcement comes amid Salesforce’s rapid rollout of AI across its cloud services, including the 2024 launch of Agentforce, an AI platform designed to automate tasks and improve operational efficiency.
