By Aaron Humes: Police have formally arrested and charged a 20-year-old Belizean man of Hopkins Village, Stann Creek District, for the crime of rape of a child.
On Tuesday, September 23, a 13-year-old student from southern Belize was accompanied by a social worker reported to the police that on Sunday, September, 21, around 8:00 p.m., she was raped by a known male individual.
A medical examination was conducted which revealed that the child was carnally known and her injuries were classified as wounding.
