By Breaking Belize News Staff: A 24-year-old Belize City man who admitted to damaging the back wheel of a Nissan vehicle during a fit of anger has been ordered to pay the court $135.
Kareem Jarrell David, an unemployed resident with no fixed address, pleaded guilty to damage to property after slashing a tire valued at $250.
In court, David explained that his frustration stemmed from his phone being damaged while it was borrowed at a birthday party. Upset over the incident, he admitted to venting his anger on the vehicle’s tire.
Senior Magistrate started sentencing at $300 but reduced the fine after considering David’s early guilty plea and the circumstances of provocation. The total deduction left him with a $135 fine.
David has until October 31, 2025, to pay or face one month in prison if he defaults.
