By Breaking Belize News Staff: A 55-year-old mechanic from Taylor’s Alley has been fined $135 after pleading guilty to possession of a crack pipe.

Steve Lawrence Cadle was arraigned this afternoon in Court #6 before a Senior Magistrate, where he admitted to having a 3½-inch silver metal pipe adapted for smoking drugs. Police said the item was found on him during a search on Baghdad Street on Thursday, September 25, 2025.

Cadle, who complained in court of back pain after sleeping on the cement floor of a holding cell, was given a non-custodial sentence. The magistrate initially set the fine at $275, considering the seriousness of the drug involved, but deductions were applied for his lack of prior drug convictions and his early guilty plea.

He must pay the fine by October 31, 2025, or face one month in prison.
