By Aaron Humes: Gun violence has reared its head once again, claiming the life of a man identified as Moses Almendarez. The incident occurred earlier this evening near Antelope Street, where reports indicate that shots were fired around 7:36 PM.
Responding police and others arrived at the scene to find Almendarez motionless. In the chaos of the shooting, a woman was also injured and has been transported to a local hospital for treatment. Her condition remains unclear at this time.
Details surrounding the shooting are still emerging, and police are investigating the circumstances that led to this violent act.
In related news, there are confirmed reports of gunfire elsewhere in the Southside with incidents reported at Rivero Street and George Street. These are being investigated.
