By Breaking Belize News Staff: Public officers, teachers, members of the Belize Police Department, Belize Defence Force, and Coast Guard will receive a 4.5% salary increase effective October 1, 2025, the Ministry of Finance confirmed.
Pensioners in these categories will also benefit, while contract officers are excluded.
The increase comes after months of negotiations and industrial action earlier this year, with salaries automatically adjusted under the new pay scales, which also account for the $5 minimum wage.
The raise follows negotiations earlier this year, where unions and the Briceño Administration agreed on the 4.5% benchmark as part of a phased salary adjustment.
