Belize’s U-23 men’s volleyball team closed out the VII AFECAVOL U-23 Central American Championship on a high note, defeating El Salvador 
3–1 (25–18, 14–25, 25–20, 25–23) on Saturday afternoon to claim fifth place in the regional tournament.
The final-day clash at Gimnasio La Basita in Chiriquí, Panama, capped a spirited campaign for Team Belize, who rebounded strongly after narrowly missing out on the semifinals in a tightly contested Group A.
Group Stage Drama and Redemption
Belize, Panama, and Guatemala all finished group play with identical 1–1 records, but Panama advanced as group winners with six points, followed by Guatemala (5) and Belize (4), based on sets won and lost:
– Panama def. Belize 3–0
– Guatemala def. Panama 3–1
– Belize def. Guatemala 3–1
That left Belize in third place, sending them to the second round against Honduras 
. On Friday, September 19, Belize swept Honduras 3–0 (25–22, 25–20, 25–15), powered by Kaelen Ingram’s standout 21-point performance.

vs Costa Rica

Championship Final: Nicaragua 
vs Guatemala
