By Zoila Palma: United Democratic Party (UDP) Leader Shyne Barrow has hinted that his time at the helm may soon come to an end, signaling a possible change in leadership ahead of the party’s upcoming convention.
Delivering what he suggested could be his final State of the Nation address as leader, Barrow reassured supporters that he remains committed to working alongside his successor and with Belizeans to challenge the current administration and push for change.
“This may be my last State of the Nation Speech as Leader of the UDP, but I pledge to you the Belizean people to work with my successor and all Belizeans to hold this Government account and form a new UDP Government that will deliver on their promises for a better Belize,” Barrow declared.
The UDP is expected to hold a national convention in the coming months, which could determine the party’s new direction and leadership.
