By Breaking Belize News Staff: A 19-year-old Belize City man, Nathan Job Ochoa, has been arraigned on charges of rape and harm after allegedly attacking a 21-year-old woman inside her Ladyville home. Ochoa, a construction worker of a Raccoon Street Extension address, appeared unrepresented before the Senior Magistrate in Court #6.
According to police reports, the victim allowed Ochoa into her home on Saturday, September 13, 2025, to collect items he had left previously. When he refused to leave, she locked herself in her room, but Ochoa reportedly broke down the door, attacked her by choking her until she lost consciousness, and proceeded to rape her. The victim regained consciousness during the assault and screamed for help, prompting neighbors to call 911.
Police arrived promptly, detaining Ochoa and escorting the victim to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital for treatment, where her injuries were classified as harm. A buccal swab was obtained from Ochoa while in custody. He was formally arrested and charged on Monday, September 15, 2025.
Ochoa was granted bail of $5,000 with two sureties of $2,500 each, under strict conditions. He must avoid contact with the victim or her family, report weekly to the Raccoon Street Police Station, stay at least 100 yards from the victim, and remain at his declared Belize City residence unless the court is notified. Ochoa is scheduled to return to the Belize City Magistrate’s Court in November 2025.
