By Aaron Humes: Police are actively investigating the shooting deaths of twins Paula Belisle and Paul Esquilliano, whose lives were cut short in a rural area of the village on Monday afternoon.
According to a police report, information was received of shots being fired in the Ysaguirre area, Hattieville Village, Belize District around 2:15 in the afternoon. Police responded, where upon arrival they met BERT personnel who was transporting 57-year-old Paula with apparent gunshot injuries to the body, but she died while being transported to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital. 57-year-old Paul’s body was found motionless on the ground with apparent gunshot injuries at a residence in the village.
The investigation into the shooting remains ongoing, and police are urging anyone with information, however small, to contact them immediately.
