By Breaking Belize News Staff: Belize got a taste of Taiwan last week when two renowned master chefs arrived as part of the “2025 International Tour of Taiwan Gourmet Cuisine.”
Chefs Pan Tai-Ju and Chan Chih-Chiang conducted a series of culinary events, beginning with a workshop on September 7 for the Taiwanese community, where they shared techniques and showcased traditional Taiwanese dishes.
On September 8, the chefs partnered with ITVET in Belize City for a hands-on exchange with Belizean chefs and culinary students, highlighting Taiwan’s food culture and professional kitchen practices.
The highlight came on September 9 at the “2025 Taiwan Cuisine Show” at the Art Box in Belmopan. Before Governor-General Dame Froyla Tzalam and an audience of 100 guests, the chefs impressed with dishes such as shrimp on rice, stir-fried satay lamb, and Taiwan’s popular popcorn chicken. Taiwanese restaurants in Belize also participated, presenting their own specialties.
The Embassy of Taiwan expressed gratitude to the Belize Taiwan Chamber of Commerce and ITVET Belize for their support in making the visit a successful cultural exchange.
